Throw in the Tao

Every time I get pissed off this week, I'm reaching for the Tao. While I make a lousy Taoist, reading it calms me down.

Urusla Le Guin's translation of the Tao (a dear friend gave me the book as a gift last month) is not available online, but it's worth the investment. Also, Nokama.com Design Studio has a beautiful, searchable online version, from the print translation by Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English here.

ok, you might laugh at me...but one of my favorite Tao books is Benjamin Hoff's "The Tao of Pooh."
The idea is Winnie the Pooh is the ulitmate Taoist.

  2. Count me among the Tao of Pooh fans!

I first read Lao Tsu's The Way in college, eons ago. Some of the simplest lessons stick with us the longest.

  3. The Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English version has always been my favorite. Like Sheila, I don't make a particularly good Taoist, but I still find reading it helpful.

It's an ideal, and I know I'll never be perfect. (grin)
